- Mitochondrial targeting sequences were detected by TargetP version 1.1 [16] and Predotar version 1.03 [17]. TargetP calculates relative for mitochondrial localization. The reliability classes (RC) of TargetP provide a score from 1 to 5, where 1 indicates the strongest prediction. Predotar provides a probability estimate as to whether the sequence contains a mitochondrial targeting sequence. Proteins with scores above 0.5 are very probably targeted to the mitochondria.
